Dear Quilter,
At Salty Kitten Quilting, building and maintaining a professional reputation is of utmost importance to me. While in my care, I promise to treat your beautiful project as if it were my very own. Please review my studio expectations below:
- The Reality of Machine Quilting: I want you to love your design! However, please understand that longarm machine quilting is meant to enhance your quilt, not "fix" fullness, puckering, poor sewing, inadequate seam allowances, improperly measured borders, or a quilt top that is out of square. Any major deviations in flatness may result in minor fabric tucks or pleats during the quilting process.
- Design & Thread Selection: I am always delighted to help you choose the perfect edge-to-edge design and thread color for your project. If you choose to leave the final design selection up to me as "Quilter's Choice," please understand that you are trusting my professional judgment and the choice is final.
- Order Adjustments: If you need to make any changes to your initial quilting request, please notify me as soon as possible. Once your quilt is officially loaded onto the frame and work has begun, the order cannot be altered.
- Mechanical & Environmental Liability: Longarm sewing machines are heavy mechanical devices. Despite meticulous maintenance, rare mechanical glitches can occur that may cause unexpected damage to a quilt top or backing. Salty Kitten Quilting cannot be held financially responsible for damages caused by factors beyond my control, including mechanical failure, shipping transit mishaps, or studio emergencies (fire, flood, theft).
- Show & Publication Credit: If your quilt is displayed in a public quilt show, shared on social media, or featured in a publication, you agree to credit the machine quilting to Salty Kitten Quilting.
- Payment & Release: I will send a final invoice and secure digital payment link the moment your project is complete. All financial balances for services and materials must be paid in full before your quilt can be shipped back or picked up from the studio.
- Disclaimer/Pets: Please be aware that the quality of your quilting is directly related to the quality and integrity of the quilt top and back. We know that no quilt is perfect and we always do our best with each quilt. We promise to try to make any flaws as inconspicuous as possible. Please know that we cannot be held responsible for problems that arise from: holes in seams, thick points, dark threads that may show through, fullness in the border and/or quilt, or any other problems that arise outside of our control. We love our kitties! They are not allowed in the quilting studio, but transference can happen. If you have SEVERE ALLERGIES to pet hair we might not be the quilter for you.
